Founding Editorial Collective
& International Advisory Board
The editorial collective and advisory board share a commitment to
grounded, rigorous fieldwork and feel strongly that ethnographic
fieldwork must have a central place in the development of anthropological
understanding. Our shared goal in founding this journal is to further
the elaboration of the ways of doing ethnography, to explore the
conceptual and practical basis of fieldwork, to raise issues regarding
the ethics of ethnographic research,
to provide a practical mode for delivering ethnographic materials
into classrooms, and to enlarge understanding of the importance
of ethnographic fieldwork in cultural anthropology and inter-disciplinary
cultural studies.
